Coming to DVD on August 11, 2020, from Nickelodeon/ Paramount Pictures, is Are You Afraid of the Dark? Re-imagined for a new generation with an MSRP of $13.99 and starring Lyliana Wray (Balck-ish), Sam Ashe Arnold (Best.Worse.Weekend.Ever.) Miya Cech (Rim of the World), Jeremy Taylor (It: Chapter Two), and Tamara Smart (The Worst Witch).

Are You Afraid Of The Dark? Returns in this nightmarish three-part limited series event filled with scorpions, eyeless men, disappearing children, and the creepiest carnival of all time! Rachel has a chance to join the secret Midnight Society. All she has to do is tell a truly terrifying story. But when the chilling events of her “Tale of Mr. Tophat and the Carnival of Doom” start to actually come true and her friends’ lives are at stake, Rachel must face her fears and end Mr. Tophat’s reign of terror.
The DVD includes:
Part One: Submitted For Approval
Part Two: Opening Night
Part Three: Destroy All Tophats
Special Features:
The Tale of Laughing in the Dark
The Tale of the Ghastly Grinner
The Tale of the Dead Man’s Float
My Opinion: I do not remember the original series from the ’90s but this is a little scary for kids to watch and very intense. I did enjoy the episodes and the process to join the Midnight Society.
