Founded in 1887 in Valdobbiadene the heart of Prosecco area, just north of Venice is Mionetto Prosecco. I was sent some Prestige Collection 1887 Prosecco DOC Treviso Brut 187 ml bottles which have grapes from the province of Treviso area which produces high-quality Prosecco, given this sparkling wine a luminous straw yellow hue for its emphatic yet stylish mousse. The bouquet is redolent of Golden Delicious apple, while the palate is appealingly marked by aromatic notes of honey, white peach and honey. Mionetto’s most classic line reflects its connections with the history of the winery in the elegant presentation of the bottle, which features an oblique label design that has always been a characteristic of the winery.
