Coming out on DVD and Blu-Ray on February 16, 2016, from RLJ Entertainment is Criminal Activities from an MSRP of $29.96 DVD and $29.97 Blu-Ray which is  directed by Jackie Earl Haley who makes his directorial debut, written by Robert Lowell and produced by Wayne Rice, Howard Burd, and Micah Sparks. You can find  the following stars in this movie John Travolta (Grease), Michael Pitt (Boardwalk Empire), Dan Stevens ( Downtown Abbey), Christopher Abbott (Girls), Rob Brown (Blindspot), Edi Gathegi (X-Men: First Class) and Jackie Earl Haley (Little Children).

This movie tells a story of four friends who stumble into a deal too good to refuse. But when the investment goes bad they learn that part of their funding came from a notoriously ruthless crime boss and it’s payback time. Now they must successfully kidnap a family member of a rival kingpin in order to erase the life-threatening debt. In way over their heads if they can complete the assigned task without screwing up they just might escape with their lives.

My Opinion: I really enjoyed this movie and the story line there was plenty of action and adventure. I am a fan of John Travolta so this was a side we have seen before since he was in Pulp Fiction and all were great actors.

A Cross To Bear

If you have not seen the movie A Cross To Bear then I feel that it is a movie that has to been seen especially if you know anyone that suffers from addiction and may be homeless. This movie is being released from RLJ Entertainment and One Village Entertainment. It stars Kim Fields (Facts Of Life, Living Single), Danielle Deadwyler (Sweet, Sweet Country), Jackie Long (Love Wrecked, Grand Theft Auto) and Malinda Williams (The Cosby Show, High School High).

This is about a girl named Erica Moses she has hopes and dreams as girl but soon learns life has other plans for her. She has failed relationships, homelessness and addiction. Erica has now hit rock bottom when she faces a young mother’s worst nightmare the loss of her child. With nowhere left to turn she finds herself on the door steps of a very special house. This house is also a women’s shelter where she finds a helping hand and a second chance.

My Opinion: I work at a detox facility and see many women and men come and sometimes repeatedly. I wish they could see this movie and give them inspiration to not give up and go for what you want. I found this movie to be inspirational, moving and very true with what is happening in this world today. I really loved this movie.

My opinion: I love a feel good movie with inspiration and makes you realize things in your life as they may not be perfect they are better then some may have it and you should be blessed with what you got. This is a great family film.
