Paper Angels Out November 3, 2015





On November 3, 2015 coming to DVD and Digital HD from CINEDIGM is Paper Angels which is based on the real life story of country music star Jimmy Wayne and produced in partnership with The Salvation Army. Paper Angels is based on the best- selling book written by Jimmy Wayne and popular Christian author Travis Thrasher. Paper Angels stars Matthew Settle (Gossip Girls), Josie Bassett (Melrose Place), Rustin Gresiuk (Fringe TV Series) and Farryn VanHumbeck (Supernatural TV Series).
Lynn Brandt an abused wife and mother leaves her alcoholic husband and moves her children to another town just weeks before Christmas. After Lynn enrolls her son Thomas in the Angel Tree program, he encounters the disillusioned businessman Kevin Morrell who picked his name from the tree. As troubled lives can come in many forms Thomas and Kevin show each other what faith and hope really mean. This holiday season get inspired by this touching drama.
Paper Angels also includes adaptations from Jimmy Wayne’s upcoming novel A Walk Beautiful and features three original songs.

My Opinion: I really enjoyed this movie and it touched my heart as it is so real and we do not know who out there we walk by everyday is struggling and needs help this Christmas with gifts for kids. I am planning on sponsoring a child this year to make theirs a bit brighter. I watched this movie from start to finish and I loved it and found it touching.

Best Christmas Party Ever out October 6,2015



Cinedigm and Hallmark Channel will be releasing a fun holiday treat with an endearing original movie called Best Christmas Party Ever which has been part of the “12 Original Movies of Christmas” on DVD (SRP$14.93) and Digital Platforms on October 6, 2015. It stars Torrey DeVitto (Major Crimes TV Series), Steve Lund (Bitten TV Series), Linda Thorson (Rookie Blue TV Series), Kalinka Petrie (The Listener TV Series) and Harmon Walsh (Saving Hope TV Series).

With the holiday season at hand young party planner Jennie Stanton learns that her boss, Petra will be retiring after Christmas and hopes she will be left in charge of Petra’s Parties New York’s premiere event planning service. Jennie’s hopes fade when Petra’s charming and handsome nephew, Nick arrives on the scene and Petra announces that he will take over the business. When an opportunity to plan a toy store’s Christmas Eve party arises, Jennie runs with it, arranging a warm and traditional affair in the same vein as the Christmas parties that inspired her as a child. As Christmas Eve approaches will Jennie open her heart to find love for the holiday?


My Opinion: I watched this last year at Christmas and so glad I got a copy to watch year after year I would also share with family and friends. This is a great Christmas movie and a love story with a happy ending I like a lot. I give it a 5 out of 5 stars.

Big Game Out August 25,2015



Coming to DVD and Blu-Ray from Anchor Bay Entertainment on August 25, 2015 is Big Game which was written and directed by Jalmari Helander, This movie stars Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction), Onni Tommila (Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale), Ray Stevenson (Divergent), Victor Garber (Blue Bloods TV Series), Ted Levine (Shutter Island) Felicity Huffman (Desperate Housewives TV Series) and Jim Broadbent Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2).


In the rugged countryside of Finland a young thirteen year old embarks on an traditional quest to prove himself by spending twenty-four hours alone in the wild, armed with only a bow and arrow. After witnessing a spectacular crash he discovers the escape pod from Air Force one containing the President of the United States. When they realize a group of kidnappers is hot on their trail with the intention of taking the president, this unlikely duo must escape their hunters as they search for the American Special Forces team sent out to find them.


My Opinion: I really enjoyed the action and suspense of this movie as it kept me watching all the way through without falling asleep or getting bored. I am a Samuel L. Jackson fan so that was a plus a swell. Great story line and I would suggest you watching it.

Infected Out June 2,2015

Image Entertainment and RLJ Entertainment will be releasing Infected on DVD and Digital Download on June 2, 2015 for an MSRP $27.97. This movie was directed by Andrew Gilbert and stars Luke Hobson (Wayland’s Song), Nicky Paul Barton, Roger Fowler, Samuel Hogarth and David Wayman (After Death, Art Ache).


This movie is about an average day in a quiet suburb which becomes ground zero for the end of the world as we knew it. When a fest spreading global pandemic turns ordinary people into flesh eating monsters, a handful of terrified survivors and the remnants of an army squad find refuge in an elementary school turned emergency shelter. With the hordes of walking dead trying to get in, scarce weapons and a dwindling food supply the embattled refugees begin to turn on each other. As they slowly perish the desperately attempt to escape and determine if they are the last humans left on earth.


My Opinion: This movie is a good one and makes you wonder if they could happen and if it did how would you react? It kept my attention and entertained all the way through. I liked it a lot and would recommend to others to see as it being not rated at a parent’s discretion.
This is a Horror/Thriller Genre and runs 120 minutes long and not yet rated.

This magical adventure features a host of colorful characters including a princess who has sworn off love, a dubious villain, a slightly nutty Sugar Plum Fairy, a tenacious elf, a mischievous imp, and a knight who is no Prince Charming.
It also includes bonus features Magical Mash Up: Outtakes, Test and Melodies and Creating the Magic.

My Opinion: This is a cute movie with some humor in it and a great movie for kids and adults alike. I really liked this movie as we all are looking for true love some have found it and others are still looking. The story kept me watching all the way through and not at all boring for me.

The Cobbler Out on May 12,2015

Coming to DvD and Blu-Ray on May 12,2015 from Image Entertainment is The Cobbler directed by Tom McCarthy and stars Adam Sandler (Happy Gilmore), Steve Buscemi (HBO’s Boardwalk Empire), Cliff “Method Man” Smith (The Sitter) and Ellen Barkin (Ocean’s Thirteen).

The Cobbler is about Max Simkin who has enough work in his little New York shoe repair shop where he quietly envies people with more interesting lives. So when he discovers an old family heirloom with the magical ability to change his appearance and transform into any of his customers, the temptation is too good to pass up. However, his newfound ability to become someone else proves to be as troublesome as it is fun; when a ruthless real estate developer tries to take over his neighborhood. Max uses his gift to become the hero he always hoped he could be.


My Opinion: I really enjoyed this movie as it shows how nice it is to be someone else as your life can get boring at times but also do nice things for other people. Nice touching and a heartwarming story. I am a big Adam Sandler fan so this is a new side to his acting abilities.

Lonesome Dove Church Out March 24,2015


On March 24, 2015 Lionsgate Home Entertainment is releasing Lonesome Dove Church on DVD with an SRP of $26.98 along with Digital HD, On Demand. This movie has casting by Judy Lee, Production Designer Bob Bottieri, Costume Designer Tanya Lipke and directed by Terry Miles. This movie stars Tom Berenger (Hatfields&McCoys),  Greyston Hoyt (TV’s Bitten) and Alex Zahara (Open Range).
This is inspired by the true story of the building of the Lonesome Dove Church in Grapevine, Texas, LONESOME DOVE CHURCH follows Pastor JOHN SHEPARD, who discovers his estranged son ISAAC is now an outlaw wanted for murder. He sets out to find him and “save” his soul. When he finds Isaac he’s hiding out from men he’s robbed. He reluctantly agrees to accompany John and preach with him in exchange for John hiding him in the back of his wagon and sneaking him out of town (no one thinks to search a preacher’s wagon).


My Opinion: I remember the Lonesome Dove series as a child but have not seen it now I think I want to watch it all now. This movie runs 90 minutes and if you love Westerns you will love this movie.
This movie has a Dove seal letting you know it is in the faith based category.

Wolfy The Incredible Secret Out March 17,2015


On March 17, 2015 to DVD and Digital Download is Wolfy The Incredible Secret from Random Media & Cinedigm this animated tale runs 80 minutes, Rated G and SRP of $14.93. This is about Wolfy the wolf and Tom the rabbit who have been inseparable since childhood; Wolfy who thought he was a orphan learns from a gypsy that his mother is still alive. So the two friends set out to find her in the principality of Wolfenberg the Land of the Wolves. They arrive right in the gathering of the Carne Festival, an annual gathering of the world’s most renowned carnivores. Will Wolfy and Tom’s friendship survive in this land where herbivores inevitably end up the day’s main dish du jour? What incredible secrets lie behind Wolfy’s birth? This is directed by Gregoire Tollaoff and Eric Omand.


My Opinion: This was a very interesting animated tale about to opposite animal friends which can be based on people as well. I enjoyed watching this to see what happened next but it was one of those that did not have to watch constantly to be able to know what was going on.

Poker Night Out February 10,2015


XLRATOR Media will be releasing Poker Night on DVD and Blu-Ray and can be purchased on February 10, 2015. This movie was written and directed by Greg Francis and stars Ron Perlman (13 Sins), Giancarlo Esposito (Once Upon A Time TV Series), Beau Mirchoff (CSI TV Series), Titus Welliver (Red2), Michael Eklund (Bates Motel TV Series), Ron Eldard (Super 8) and Corey Large (The Frozen Ground).
This movie runs 105 minutes and is a Thriller rated NR.

In this twisted thriller, a young detective is caught in a sadistic game of cat and mouse when he is kidnapped and tormented by a masked serial killer. In order to survive the rookie must use the wisdom imparted to him by senior detectives on their regular poker night.
My Opinion: This movie kept my interest all the way through and having to love the game of poker this was a great movie to see if he was going to come out alive or continue a cat and mouse game.
