Merlet Crème De Melon

Merlet Crème De Melon is a tribute to a local variety, renowned for its quality and now produced in different regions. The Merlet family sources its products from partner producers just a few dozen kilometers from the distillery, ensuring quality control. Due to their status as blackcurrant growers and winegrowers, the Merlet family can establish a close dialogue with these suppliers and use their expertise to select fruits of optimum ripeness.

The melon flesh is then macerated in a superfine alcohol to extract all their aromas, then pressed and filtered into a natural fruit infusion. Finally, sugar is added to obtain the final melon cream, with a hint of Pineau des Charentes. The Merlet family's mastery of the source of the fruits, their ripeness, and then their processing, combined with a high concentration of macerated fruits, are the keys to the extreme intensity and complexity obtained.

DAISY DE MELON
Created by Cuffs & Buttons

½ oz Merlet Crème de Melon, Cantaloupe Liqueur
1 oz Tequila Blanco
¾ oz Fresh Lime Juice
½ oz Mineral Simple Syrup**
½ oz Mezcal

*Del Maguey Vida is suggested
**Pour sugar and mineral water in a 1:1 ratio by weight and stir until full dilution. It can be replaced by simple syrup.

Measure ingredients into a tin, and then add ice. Cap the shaker, and shake vigorously to properly chill, dilute, and aerate. Uncap the shaker and strain it into a double Old Fashioned glass full of fresh ice. Garnish with a cube of cantaloupe on a pick and serve in a double Old Fashioned glass.

My Opinion: It has 18% alcohol by volume which is a lot so drink it responsibly it tastes good and is different than what I have had in the past and I like it mixed with my pineapple juice or peach juice as I prefer mixed drinks.
