Ava and Lala

Arc Entertainment will be releasing Ava & Lala on DVD October 7, 2014 this movie was directed and written by Wang Yunfei and stars Tom Arnold (Roseanne), JK Simmons (Ultimate Spiderman), Mira Sorvino (Romey and Michele’s High School Reunion) and George Takei (Star Trek).  This animated tale runs 80 minutes Long and rated PG.

Follow Ava who is a mischievous young girl and a martial arts student who really knows how to pack a punch! One day she meets Lala, a cuddly and kind tiger-like creature and they discover they can talk to each other. She runs away from her village to join Lala in a mystical kingdom of wonderful animals all specially chosen to live there safe from humans. They befriend a huge bear who has a heart of gold named Uncle Bear who tells them that Lala must leave the kingdom in three days before a fierce Tiger General finds out they’re there. Uncle Bear is determined to help Ava escape but they find out it’s not that easy especially when the other animals discover that Lala has an extraordinary magical power. When Lala is captured it’s up to Ava and Uncle Bear to rescue him in time to get Ava safely back home.

My Opinion: This is a very heartwarming and special movie with all the cute animals. Love the story line to learn about friendship, helping others and stand up to bullying.

Sherlock Hones Ink Pens and UV Light

When I was a child I loved a good mystery rather it was in a book or on TV like Sherlock Holmes, Nancy Drew or even Scooby Doo you always wanted to know who done it and figure out the mystery and today I still watch those type of shows on TV. I recently got to review Sherlock Hones Ink Pens and UV Light they come in a package of  12 fluorescent colors which are  Hot Pink, Electric Blue & Minty Green Dream along with a  bright long beam UV light. How it works is you draw a picture on a piece of paper and then go to a dark room and shine the UV light on it to reveal what you drew. You can also use it for signs.

My Opinion: These work well and you can see the color no problem with the UV light in a dark room.

The Spice Lab

The Spice Lab has gourmet salts and spices and recently I got to review some of their products and they are Gourmet Sea Salt Sampler which has 6 tubes with over 1 ounce of salt inside. The salts I got were French Fleu De Sel No.11 which is from the Guérande region of France and It has a delicate flavor, a moist texture, and a rich, sweet flavor that melts as it touches the tongue.

Himalayan Crystal Pink No.40 this is extra fine with .2-.5mm the size of table salt and mined from dark pink salts from the Himalayan Mountains.

 Applewood Smoked no. 7 is a flaky sea salt which is fine that is naturally smoked over real apple wood from the Yakima Valley in Washington State with aged applewood. 

Cyprus White Flake no.3 On the island of Cyprus this takes two years to form as it needs the perfect balance of weather and temperature to achieve this unique and versatile product which is 100% natural, with all  natural flavoring.

Murray River Pink Flake no.3 From the Murray River in Australia which is sourced by the Australian Alps which is light and delicate this salt is produced naturally from the underground brines. A red pigment and carotene, is secreted from the salt tolerant algae. The underground saline waters have been laying dormant for thousands of years.

Hawaiian Red Alaea No.12 this fine salt is rich in minerals and iron from the  red alaea clay which was extracted from  the vein between lava rocks and locals belief these have medicinally properties such as cleanse, purify and bless tools, canoes, as well as in healing rituals for medicinal purposes.

My Opinion: I have never had gourmet salts before and these I tried on many different dishes from chicken, beef, fish anywhere you would use a seasonings and the flavors were really tasty and the colors were amazing you realize sometime how beautiful the world is and what it can form. I enjoyed the idea of the salts coming in test tubes.

Dust Whisper From Full Circle

We all have dust in our home and sometimes it is out of reach to clean and for me being a mere 4’11” it is hard for me to reach my ceilings and ceiling fan very well to clean so  I always grab a step stool or chair to help but now that I have found the Dust Whisper from Full Circle I do not need to reach as high as this has a plastic handle which 100% recycled and some bamboo with a filament microfiber duster  which acts like a magnet, flexible to reach those hard to get to places and the fine fibers clean the nooks and crannies . The duster also can be removed and washed along with hung for easy storage.  

My Opinion: I love the handle of it and how well it works at removing the dust. I also hang it to have easy access to for the next time and washing the microfiber duster was easy and I noticed the dust still attaches to it as the first time I used it. Being an eco-tool is a great thing for the environment.

I recently got Goat’s Milk Soap No.1 which is unscented Goat’s milk has some great benefits such as alpha-hydroxy acids, Vitamin A and Selenium. It will not irritate the skin making it delicate on the skin for anyone with a skin condition.

Tea Tree Oil Soap Shea Butter Enriched which is used as a disinfectant, antiseptic and for topical antibacterial and antifungal treatments by the Aboriginal people for millennia. It is these properties that make Tea Tree Oil Soap ideal for certain inflammatory skin conditions in addition to general use.

Olive Oil Soap No.1 this is 100% Pure and has been used for hundreds of years for making soap.

All of the soaps from Mohawk Valley are handmade.

These are all from Mohawk Valley Trading Company which I was able to review along with candles listed below all made of  100% pure beeswax and is one of the oldest sources of artificial light and today is still the most natural candle material. The lovely fresh scent, a long burn time and the natural origins of beeswax make it the preferred candle for many types of people from the Catholic Church to environmentalists. 

2 Votive candles ,1 2”x6” Pillar,2 10” Tapper candles, 4 tea light and Birthday candles which are 5” and come in a package of 12 hand dipped.

My Opinion: I love these candles and they smell amazing being natural bees wax and the soaps are nice as well. I really enjoy what Mohawk Valley Trading Company stands for and that is homemade natural products.

Apothecary Tea Tree Oil Review

Tea Tree Oil has many uses and medicinal properties from soothing sunburns, cures toe fungus, remove skin tags, acne and so much more. I recently got a 4 oz. Bottle of Tea Tree Oil from Apothecary to review as being a member of BrandBacker.  I want to make the Antibacterial Hand Scrub and the direction seem very simple and you will need :

Soap dispenser (cleaned with hot water & dried)

 ½ tbsp. Apothecary Extracts Tea Tree Oil

 1 lemon, juiced

 1 cup sea salt (medium fine grains)

 2 drops lemon essential oil

 1/3 cup olive oil

Mix It: Add all ingredients into a wooden mixing bowl and stir until well blended.

Pour mixture into empty soap dispenser and place in bathroom and kitchen.

My Opinion: I really like Tea Tree oil as it is good for anything and with the winter months on the way you know you are bound to get a cold and flu which tea tree oil is good for breathing easier. This recipe came out amazing and I may make more and give out for Christmas gifts.

Relief OTC from Tummy Co

It is the middle of the night and you wake up to a burning sensation in your throat and you are wondering what to take may I recommend Relief OTC this is a liquid heartburn relief product in the flavor orange crème and has  sodium, calcium and potassium.  I am a heartburn suffering and with less activity the more I get the foods that bring on my heartburn are tomato sauces, chocolate and greasy foods. I was sent Relief OTC to try and because it is a liquid so it is suppose to work fast as it does not need to dissolve as liquids go right in to the blood stream.

My Opinion: I have a hard time taken pills with a narrow throat so I was thankful for a liquid heartburn product on the market. It is not chalky and the flavor is pleasant and it did take care of my heartburn symptoms effectively so I could get back to sleep and rest for the busy day ahead. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

The Devil Incarnate

On October 7, 2014 RLJ Entertainment and Image Entertainment will release The Devil Incarnate on DVD and Digital Download. This movie stars Rod Luzzi (Spin), Graci Carli (Ascent) and Emily Rogers (Sanctuary: Quite a Conundrum). If you have seen Velvet Road it was directed by L. Gustavo Cooper he also directed this movie.

The future is looking bright for newlyweds Trevor and Holly but their dreams are about to devolve into a nightmare of unspeakable terror. On a random visit to a tarot reader they encounter a mysterious old woman who tells them that Holly is pregnant. But soon, their joy is overshadowed by a mounting sense of dread that something sister lurks within Holly’s womb. As a child grows within her she begins to exhibit increasingly bizarre and violent behavior. Desperate to save his wife and unborn child, Trevor searches for answers and discovers Holly may have fallen prey to an ancient curse spawned by an evil demon with an insatiable lust for blood.

My Opinion: This movie was not what i expected and was different then some horror movies i have seen. I was left yet again wanting more.
