Wednesday Season 1

** Warner Brothers Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy which I reviewed in this blog post. The opinions I share are my own”. **

From the creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (“Smallville”), and director Tim Burton (The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice), the kooky and spooky first season of “Wednesday,” the TV series based on Wednesday Addams of the iconic Addams Family, which streams on Netflix and is produced by MGM Television, a division of Amazon MGM Studios, comes to DVD $24.98 ($29.98 in Canada) and Blu-ray $29.98 SRP ($39.99 in Canada)  March 26, 2024. "Wednesday" Season One will be available to purchase online and in-store from major retailers. Pre-order your copy now.

The series stars Jenna Ortega as Wednesday, Gwendoline Christie as Principal Larissa Weems, Jamie McShane as Sheriff Donovan Galpin, Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin, Percy Hynes White as Xavier Thorpe, Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, and Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay. Guest stars include Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, and Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester.

“Wednesday” is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday's attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.

My Opinion: I like this series and how Wednesday is so serious always but tries to be funny in a torturous way. I am glad she finally found a place to fit in and her adventures at school make you want to be her friend and feel for her.
