Make the most of the festive season with this charmingly illustrated book packed full of crafting ideas, baking recipes and gardening projects, all perfect for enjoying during Christmas!
Get ready for fun, wholesome crafting activities, such as how to make a decorative garland from beads and string. Discover the creativity of using recycled materials and learn about how you can reuse old holiday cards to create bookmarks, gift tags, and even your own bunting.
Then
roll up your sleeves and get your apron ready for the simple,
tasty and festive recipes that each make a delicious treat to
give away as Christmas gifts. From maple syrup caramels,
which need only two ingredients, to deliciously warming cinnamon
rolls to share around on Christmas morning, you will be delighted
by how easy it is to get involved with the cozy fun.
Woven
throughout the book are nuggets of nature-themed festive
wisdom that encourage you to think about self-sufficiency,
written by series author and homesteading teacher Angela
Ferraro-Fanning. You will discover how to attract a ‘Santa
crow’, which can leave gifts in exchange for food, you'll learn about
how to grow elderberry plants from cuttings, and
you’ll enjoy some mystical lore about the pattern of the moon
across the Christmas season.
All
the activities are broken down into steps, clearly
explained, and accompanied by AnneliesDraws’ adorable
illustrations. The gardening and planting activities will
suit any space, as they will work equally well on windowsills as
in gardens.
This
special book from Ivy Kids will nurture creativity and deep
connections with the living world, and will help
young readers and families to celebrate the holiday season with planet-friendly
fun.
My Opinion: Life on a Homestead might be a different
life than yours but again, it might not be in this book it has interesting facts,
yummy simple recipes, and homemade Christmas gifts to give someone this year. I
love cinnamon pinecones and will be making this craft!
