How often do you change your kitchen sponge? Did you know you should change it every 30 days as there are germs and bacteria lurking in them and can make you and your family sick. With this in mind Wendy Lovato and her brother came up with Calendar Sponges as a reminder when you change it as it has the month stamped on it. Did you know kitchen sponges have over 200,000 germs which is more than a toilet set! Kitchen sponges provide the perfect environment for food borne pathogens, yeasts and molds to multiply. That’s why it’s so important to sanitize your kitchen sponges between uses and replace them every month! After 2-3 days, your kitchen sponge is swimming with millions of bacteria, specifically E. coli, salmonella, or campylobacter. I recently was able to review these sponges and without having this knowledge right in my face you forget how germy sponges are and how often to sanitize and replace.
My Opinion: I like this and the idea as with my busy schedule all I have to do is look at the sponge and remember what month it is and when the month is up throw it away and every few days sanitize to keep me and my family safe from bacteria.
