Graeter’s ice cream is made in a French Pot freezers in the only commercial ice cream manufacturer anywhere in the world that uses this. To gallon batches are the smallest in the industry, the original plant in Mount Auburn had only four French Pots but the new plant and Bond Hill has 36 French pot freezers running day and night to keep up with the demand. They have been around since 1870 making great ice cream and also seasonal favorites. I went to my local whole foods because that’s the only place that I could find with in my state that carries this ice cream and I picked up 3 pints, Double Chocolate Chip which has a decadent duo of Dutch cocoa powder and they are gourmet bittersweet chocolate chips that will satisfy even the most demanding chocoholic.
Mint Chocolate Chip has pure peppermint oil which provides a blast of mint the freshness that is pure perfection when matched with they are gourmet bittersweet chocolate chips so you can indulge in enjoy. Original Salted Caramel is one of the original flavors that was first made over a century ago, and they still do by cooking brown sugar and cream with a pinch of salt making this simple, subtle, and sublime.
My Opinion: this ice cream is very tasty and I like that it’s made with simple ingredients. I had this Labor Day weekend at a family barbecue and I got lots of comments on how good it was. I do find the price at whole foods for this ice cream a bit more than I like to pay for a pint but it was good.
