The Mountain and The Goat by Siamak Taghaddos from
Poetti. Growing up, my father taught me an old Persian poem that had a profound
impact on my life. It taught me to seize the opportunities that life throws at
us and to always be resourceful. It inspired me to write this story to plant
the seed of entrepreneurship and take-action mentality in children, and to help
them understand that it’s every day, small actions that lead to bigger and
better results.
What do you do when a singing goat gives you some
bread and water? Follow along as ingenuity turns a small gift into something
marvelous. Beautifully illustrated, The Mountain and The Goat starts with a
chance encounter with a singing goat that takes the reader on a journey of
bartering and decision-making and ends with an afternoon nap.
My Opinion:
This book does teach kids how to barter and trade things for other items
and ends with something his dad needed and family. It was nicely illustrated
and simple to understand.
