Andean Dream Cookies and Quinoa Pasta Review

I recently got to try Andean Dream Cookies in the flavors Coffee, Coconut, Orange Essence, Chocolate Chip, Raisin Spice and Coco-Orange they are high in protein along with 21 amino acids and made with Organic Royal Quinoa and are Gluten Free, contains no animal products and for portability individually wrapped with recycled materials.  I also got Quinoa Spaghetti and Quinoa Macaroni which are 100% Kosher, Corn and Soy Free, never mushy, has 24 grams of rich protein and made with again Organic Royal Quinoa.

My Opinion: I love the cookies and you would never know they were made with quinoa as you can’t taste them. I find the texture good and tasty some that I had try it found the texture to be dry not moist enough. I loved them and the fact the sugar content is lower is also a plus for me. The pasta was also yummy and with the added protein I was full quicker then I normally am.

I wanted to include some health benefits of Quinoa which is Cardiovascular Disease, Type 2 Diabetes, Colon Cancer, High Blood Pressure and Obesity.

Gold Canyon Holiday Gift Guide 2014

Gold Canyon offers a wide variety of candles for any occasion along with you the opportunity to become a representative to make a little extra cash. I got to review a wide variety of products the first being  Lumies Folk which is a folk art design with a eight point star symbolizing rebirth and perfect for the new year or a new day. You can pick the print design you want then the scent and create. The next item I got was Hoot which is an electric candle melter and you can decide how many hours you want the fragrant candle in your home 4,8,12 and it shuts off automatically. The last items I got were POD these are to be used with the warmer it is a small round plastic container that just sits on top to melt no more prying the wax out; the scent I got were Pumpkin Bread, Gingered Pear and Cinnamon Pinecones. The last item I got Seasonal Snowflake Magnate wooden with a 48” ribbon to dress up any candle.

My Opinion: I like candles and a way to make my home smell better so am all about Gold Canyon . I love the Hoot candle wax melter and the scents for fall and winter are amazing. I love them so much and would order from them again or maybe become a representative someday.

Kids Halloween Crafts

HALLOWEEN LOLLIPOP BAGS

Need: 1 x disposable latex glove

assorted lollipops

black ribbon

For the best looking hand lollipop bags, make sure you have at least 4 rolls of small round lollipops that will fit into the finger sections of the glove.

Now just stuff the hand full of lollipops, and tie a ribbon around the end to keep them in.

Lay them out on your Halloween party table for guests to take as they leave.

Or have them by the door to give to trick or treaters.

Need: plain red plastic bucket (cheap at $2 shops or Bunnings)

white card or craft paper

HALLOWEEN MASKS

Paper plates

Markers

Colorful pens or pencils

      Scissors

String or yarn

Measure where the eye holes on the mask should be by holding a paper plate up to each child's face and marking the area carefully with a pen.

Cut the eye holes out of each mask.

Give each child some markers, pens or pencils and let them decorate their masks in their own way.

Punch a hole in either side of the mask edge and thread a string through, knotting the ends to secure in place.

Slip the finished masks over the kids faces and watch as they transform into hairy, scary Halloween monsters.

Under Wraps on DVD 10/14/2014

ARC Entertainment is releasing Under Wraps on DVD on October 14, 2014 this movie is directed by Gordon Crum and written by Allison Ross. This movie stars Brooke Shields (The Blue Lagoon), Drake Bell (Josh & Drake) and Matthew Lillard (Scooby Doo).

This animated tale is about Danny and his older sister Eleanor who fall into an adventure of a lifetime when Danny accidentally unleashes a century old curse involving mummies, pharaohs and nefarious villains. When their archeologist parents go on an expedition to an ancient pharaoh’s last resting place, Danny sneaks into the tomb and finds a sacred amulet, which he takes home. When, Danny accidentally breaks the amulet, all sorts of chaos follow starting with his parents turning into mummies. Eleanor and Danny fanatically look for clues to solve this nightmare but the police, an evil assistant and a mysterious visitor from the past are suddenly getting to close for comfort.

My Opinion: This is a great PG movie for kids and parents alike and runs 45 minutes and I think it is a cute tale with a great meaning for kids.

Werewolf Rising

Werewolf Rising will be available on October 14, 2014 on DVD for SRP $27.97 from Image Entertainment and RLJ Entertainment. Directed by BC Furtney and stars  Bill Oberst Jr. (Abraham Lincoln VS. Zombies), Melissa Carnell (Boggy Creek), Matt Copko (Dirty Laundry), Brian Berry (Hellspawn) and Irena Murphy (Bitter is Better).

       

 

This movie is about Emma who is desperate to break from the big city and heads to her families cabin deep in the Arkansas hills. As she settles for some much needed R&R, she learns that something unspeakable lurks in the surrounding darkness. As the full moon rises a blood thirsty werewolf emerges from the shadows slaughtering everyone in its path revealing a sinister underworld Emma never knew existed. Thrown into a fight for her life and her soul Emma will need to escape these big bad woods before it is too late. This movie runs 80 minutes long and in the genre of Horror/Thriller.

My Opinion: I found this move to be a very intense horror movie that kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to see more but the ending was not as I expected either.

Corny Party Favors

When it comes to Halloween handouts, there's perhaps nothing more iconic than candy corn. These sweet burlap gift bags (7" x 11.5") inspired by the tricolored confection make for charming (and reusable!) takeaways at Halloween get-togethers. (Sugar high not included.)

Step 2: Adhere the tags to the burlap gift bags with twine.

Broomstick Drink Stirrers

Step 1: Cut eight 7" strips of raffia. Bend all eight pieces in half. Lay four folded strands vertically, then lay the other four horizontally, forming a plus sign. Bring the ends of the vertical four together around the horizontal four. Then bring the remain-ing ends together and secure the entire bundle with black twine 1/2" from the bottom. Snip folded ends to form broom shape.

Step 2:  Push a wooden skewer into the bristles until end is hidden. Spread bristles apart so you can see where skewer and raffia meet. Apply glue at that spot to secure. Repeat to make additional stirrers.

Jack-O'-Lantern Candlesticks

Mix 2 tablespoons Mod Podge with 3 teaspoons water and 10 drops orange food coloring. Swish mixture inside Martinelli's brand apple juice bottles (we used two small, one large); pour out excess and dry. Heat in oven for 45 minutes at 225°F until bottles are transparent. Wrap bottlenecks with twine. Use permanent marker to draw faces.

Cat Face Garland

Step 1: Download our cat face template.

Step 2:  Using a white pencil, trace the template onto black card stock and cut out desired number of faces.

Step 3: Fringe the sides of the cat's face and the top of its head with scissors. (Fringing scissors work best: $9.95; walmart.com).

Step 4:  For each cat, cut three pieces of black waxed twine, about 4" long. Knot them together in the center of the twine, and glue to the cat's face as whiskers.

Step 5: Toward the horizontal center of the cat's face, use a standard single-hole punch to create holes for eyes about 21/2" apart.

Step 6: Hang string lights and position cat faces on 2 lightbulbs, one in each eye hole.

Led lights are something we like to use to make our life seem colorful and I recently got some from RTGS Products I got the 20 light strings which is 7.5 feet long in the colors green, blue, red and yellow; the come on an ultra-thin wire and require batteries to operate. These lights have many features including being bendable, uses a friction of energy, a battery box. I had many ideas I would use these lights for such as mailbox decoration, bike wheels, back window of my car. There are so many places to use these lights.

My Opinion: I really like the lights but wish they were not battery powered to save money on batteries. They work great and very sturdy.

Canva Champ

We all have a photo we took and would like to take it from or phone or computer to maybe a canvas print for our wall? Well, how about Canvas Champ I got to review them and picked one of my favorite places and scenes it is Mt. Sopris which is in Aspen, Co and the best view of the mountain is from Glenwood, CO. I got the 8x12 which is a small one to put maybe in the bedroom over the bed or the bathroom to remember the times I had in Colorado which were some of the best of my life. Now you could also get your baby, house, flowers and more.

My Opinion: My canvas came out beautifully and looks amazing and came with all the hardware I need to hang it so I did not have to go out and buy any. I would definitely buy another print for my wall but I want a larger one for my living room wall.
