Coming to DVD and Blu-Ray on September 3, 2019, from
RLJE Films is Into The Ashes which is written and directed by Aaron Harvey and
stars Luke Grimes (American Sniper), Robert Taylor (The Meg), Frank Grillo
(Captain America), and James Badge Dale (Iron Man 3). With an honest job and a
loving wife, Nick Brenner believed he had safely escaped his violent, criminal
history. But his old crew hasn’t forgotten about him or the money he stole, and
when they take what Nick now values the most – his wife – he has nothing left
to lose. Confronted by the town sheriff, who is also his father-in-law, Nick
must decide if he will stay on his new path or indulge in his need for revenge
and force his enemies to pay for what they have done.
Genre: Acton/Adventure/ Thriller
My Opinion: I found this movie to be slow going and
just as the mouse becomes the cat, with Nick and Sal reuniting to stalk Sloan,
the movie's point of view shifts for no detectable reason, experiencing the action
secondhand through the work of Sheriff Frank.
