Living in Maryland Shrimp and Grits is big but I am from Maine so I am learning to enjoy them. I recently heard of Sarge’s Shrimp and Grits Sauce. I got the Sarge’s Low Country Shrimp and Grits Sauce which is made from an authentic low country style recipe, this shrimp and grits mix is a delicious and savory combination of aromatic spices with a hint of fire to spice things up. Everyday comfort food sauce blends together chicken broth, all-purpose flour, garlic, vegetable oil, hot sauce, Sriracha, bell peppers, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and a special blend of herbs and spices.
Sarge’s
Yellow Stone Ground Grits bring three cups of water to a
boil & add one cup of heavy cream. Whisk in one cup of Sarge's grits, and add a half stick of butter & salt to taste. Reduce heat to a low
simmer and cook for fifteen minutes. For creamier grits cook longer and
add more water as needed.
Sarge’s Seafood
Seasoning
contains a flavorful and versatile blend of herbs and spices, making it perfect
for seafood whether it's fried, baked, broiled, or grilled. It can
also be used in stews and soups. Salt,
spices including paprika, dehydrated garlic, dehydrated onion, sugar, corn
starch, and rice hulls. We use rice hulls as a natural anti-caking agent rather
than silicon dioxide.
My
Opinion: I enjoyed the grits and on top of the shrimp I placed that I seasoned it with the Seafood Seasoning which was yummy. The next time I made shrimp I tried
it with the Low Country Shrimp and Grits Sauce and I went easy with it as I
can’t have too much heat.
About
Them: Chef Julius West's love of food developed as a child traveling the U.S.
as the son of an Air Force Sargeant. While his dad was serving, Julius spent
hours in the kitchen with his mom where she taught him that thoughtfully
preparing traditional, homestyle dishes is a way to show others care and
respect. This inspired Julius to open his food truck in 2012 where his
delicious shrimp & grits quickly became the most popular dish on the menu.
Julius has now decided to bottle this fan favorite to make it easy for anyone
to enjoy this delicious, time-honored regional favorite at home.
