Space Racers is a new animated preschool television program that follows young spaceship cadets as they soar through the Solar System, learning about the power of scientific investigation and observation, the wonders of space exploration, and the importance of working together as a team. The world of the Space Racers comes vividly to life through stunning computer-generated imagery (CGI) and actual sounds and images from NASA missions. NASA is also onboard as technical consultant approving all scripts for science and space accuracy, plus many of the live-action interstitial feature NASA astronauts and scientists sharing experiences and expertise.
The Space Racers Parent & Educator’s Toolkit, developed in cooperation with WNET Education, includes a DVD with 13 animated episodes, 4 live-action segments, and a CD-ROM filled with corresponding Lesson Plans and Family Activities. These resources are ideal for kids in grades Pre-K through 3rd grade. You can purchase for $14.99 the Space Racers Tool Kit which includes DVD and CD-Rom.
My Opinion: I really enjoyed Space Racers as it is very educational for kids to learn about our Solar System and keep up with Science at home during the Summer months when there is no school and it is also great for parents that home school kids.
