Easter is just around the corner and every year I want to remember why Easter is important to be and remind my nieces and nephews. I recently reviewed The Sparkle Egg By Jill Hardie and Illustration by Christine Kornacki. This is about a boy named Sam he loves to color eggs at Easter time which is special with his family. But this year Sam is overwhelmed with guilt with a lie he told. Sensing Sam is upset mom and dad help him make a special Easter craft called a Sparkle Egg. After he has decorated the outside his parents have him write down what is bothering him or something he feels bad about and then put that piece of paper inside the egg.
The next morning when Sam awoke after wondering what would happen to that piece of paper what he does find helps shine light on the true gift of Easter. This book will help readers grasp the gift of God’s perfect grace and forgiveness. To learn more visit

My Opinion: I really enjoyed this touching story of Easter and God’s everlasting forgiveness and love for us. This book teaches kids that lying is not something you should ever do.
