Image Entertainment and RLJ Entertainment comes Simon and The Oaks available on DVD and Digital Download on May 6, 2014. This movie is directed by Lisa Ohlin who directed Waiting for the Tenor.  This movie is in the Genre of Drama, Foreign Drama, Swedish Cinema, World War II and Holocaust. This stars Bill Skarsgard (Hemlock Grove). This movie runs 122 minutes and is about the years leading up to World War II two families who seemingly are very different but find they have more in common than first realized. Simon is a bookish dreamer from a working class family in rural Sweden, Isak is a son of a wealthy Jewish immigrant fleeing religious persecution in Berlin. While Simon dreams of music, literature and art which part of Isak’s life. Isak finds comfort and security in Simon’s more rustic life. When Isak’s family needs to find refugee from the anti-Semitism building in Sweden , the two families slowly emerge connected in an unexpected way that threaten to bring them both closer and also tear them apart.

My Opinion: This is a very interesting movie which is suspenseful but also makes you aware of the time period and how different it is compared to now; How to survive in that type of environment as well.
