If you watched the Hallmark Channel last Christmas
season you saw they had a bunch of heartwarming, feel good movies to get you in
the mood with holiday spirit. One of them was Christmas at Cartwright’s now you
can own it on DVD (SRP $14.93) and Digital platforms on October 6, 2015 from
Hallmark and Cinedigm. This movie stars
Alicia Witt (Friday Night Lights), Gabriel Hogan (Teen Wolf TV Series), Wallace
Shaw (The Good Wife TV Series) and T.J. McGibbon (Remember).
With the holiday season at hand single mom Nicky
Talbot is unemployed and struggling to afford a nice Christmas with her 8 year
old daughter. Hearing that Cartwright’s Department Store is hiring temporary
holiday help, Nicky rushes in to apply but is rejected by Senior VP Fiona
Aldrich who considers her a threat to the relationship she hopes to have with
Bill, a charming and handsome store manager. In a whimsical turn of events,
Harry Osbourne claiming to be a consultant from corporate headquarters
encourages Nicky to dress up and begin working as Cartwright’s store Santa
Claus. With the magical help of Harry, Nicky keeps the job but nobody knows
Cartwright’s Santa Claus is a women. Will she be able to keep her job if her
secret get’s out?
My Opinion: I really enjoyed this movie and watched
it many times last holiday season. I like Alicia Witt and have seen many of her
movies and TV shows when she was on Cybill. I love the plot and the romance of
doing a good deed for her daughter and finding a bit of happiness along the
way.
