Praying For America 40 Inspiriting Stories and Prayers for Our Nation By Dr. Robert Jefferies

Praying For America 40 Inspiriting Stories and Prayers for Our Nation By Dr. Robert Jefferies from FirstWords. On March 30, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln issued a proclamation appointing a national day of fasting and prayer, saying: “We have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us!”

We pray not to get our will done in heaven but to get God’s will done on Earth. And if ever there was a time when we needed God’s will done in America, that time is now! This book is filled with inspiring stories to demonstrate the power of faith n the life of our nation, a prayer, and a relevant passage of Scripture to biblically ground each prayer. In these increasingly divided times, this book will provide a necessary resource for Christians. Dr Jeffress with his wide platform, is the perfect author to lead this change.

My Opinion: This book not only teaches about our past but also praying to God for everything in your life and be grateful. Some chapters include for our troops, for the voiceless, for those in prison, for discernment, and more.
