DC’s Stargirl: The Complete First Season

** Warner Brothers Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Blu-ray I reviewed in this blog post. The opinions I share are my own”. **

Coming to Blu-ray (MSRP $29.98) and DVD (MSRP $24.98) on September 29, 2020, from Warner Brother’s Home Entertainment is DC’s Stargirl: The Complete First Season. This series stars Brec Bassinger (Bella & the Bulldogs), Yvette Monreal (Faking It), Anjelika Washington (Tall Girl), Cameron Gellman (Heathers), Trae Romano (555), Jake Austin Walker (Fear the Walking Dead), Hunter Seasons (Safety), Meg DeLacy (The Fosters), Neil Jackson (Absentia), and Christopher James Baker (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).

Someone needs to carry the torch.. High school sophomore Courtney Whitmore’s seemingly perfect life in Los Angeles is upended by a move to Blue Valley, Nebraska, with her mother, Barbara; stepfather, Pat Dugan; and stepbrother, Mike. Well struggling to adapt to her new family, town, in school, Courtney discovers that Pat is harboring a major secret: he was the sidekick to the Justice Society of America’s Starman. When Courtney accidentally discovers the Cosmic Staff, she uses its power to reignite the legacy of the long-lost superhero team and inspire a new generation of crime fighters. This DC Universe original series from executive producer Greg Berlanti is based on creator Jeff Johns’ DC comic series, which he dedicated to the memory and uplift spirit of his late sister.

Episodes: Stargirl, S.T.R.I.P.E., Icicle, Wildcat, Hourman and Dr. Mid-Nite, The Justice Society, Shiv Part One, Shiv Part Two, Brainwave, Brainwave Jr., Shining Knight, Stars & S.T.R.I.P.E. Part One, Stars & S.T.R.I.P.E. Part Two

My Opinion: I was not sure I was going to like this series that is on CW and now available to own but I thoroughly enjoyed this series and I can’t wait to see season two now.
