The Misadventures of Michael McMichaels the Creepy Campers by Tony Penn and illustrated by Brian Martin

The Misadventures of Michael McMichaels the Creepy Campers by Tony Penn and illustrated by Brian Martin from Boys Town Press.  A story about honesty, integrity, and friendships. Michael McMichaels, his best friend Kenny and the always annoying and Harriet are at a New Mexico summer camp. Imagine being in stuck in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by spooky words and see them strange flying saucers and that’s just the least of their worries! Some of their fellow campers are doing all they can to win camp competitions and all the glory, fame, and prizes that come along with it.

They cheat, lie, bully and intimidate. If Michael wants to win, can he bring himself to use those same underhanded tactics? Written for children, the creepy campers ask readers to think about their own ethical choices. In this winning at any cost worth it? Tony pennies expertly crafted plot twist and sharp dialogue help children clearly see the many real consequences of cheating and deception.
My Opinion: I like this book as if prepare kids for going to summer camp and what it might entail at be at a summer camp. I like the storyline as it teaches kids to be honest and truthful and not lie.
