Wine Insiders

Wine is a great drink to unwind after a day of work or stress along with special occasions. Wine Insiders has a great selection of wines at reasonable prices. I was sent George Philips Chardonnay Clarksburg No. 717 hails from a region near Sacramento in California’s Northern Central Valley. This satisfying white wine has a rich flavor with aromatic ripe fruits. Enjoy robust notes of citrus and tropical fruits with a fresh creaminess. There is bright acidity yet smooth texture that creates a lingering finish. This wine was handcrafted from grapes grown in vineyards in Clarksburg, a quaint yet beautiful region with California’s classic, laidback vibes.

With warm days and cool nights, tempered by breezes and fog moving inland from San Francisco Bay, this appellation is ideal for growing California’s notable grape varieties, with Chardonnay being one of the most popular. Pair 2019 George Phillips Chardonnay Clarksburg with chicken, buttery seafood, and creamy pasta dishes. It’s also excellent with popcorn, so uncork this on your next movie night!

Villa Rosa Vinho Rose comes from Portugal made with 100% Baga grapes. This Villa Rosa has an intense nose of fresh red fruit with a predominance of strawberry and red currant. It beams fresh, fruity, elegant, and harmonious flavors. This summertime staple pairs nicely with pasta, boiled or grilled fish, shellfish, grilled white meats, and soft cheese. Enjoy at your leisure time on a sunny day.

2019 Finca Los Olmos Selleccion Especial Malbec this fruity, full-bodied red wine hails from Mendoza, Argentina’s leading wine region. This dry, delectable red is dark in color with bright violet hues. Enticing aromas of strawberry and cherry meet hints of vanilla. There is a sweetness from the first sip, giving way to balanced acidity and silky tannins. Made from 100% Malbec grapes, this wine hails from Maipú in Argentina’s Mendoza winemaking region. Vineyards are located above sea level, where the microclimate and stony ground make for wines of exceptional quality expressing intensely concentrated aromas. This variety loves abundant sunshine, and grapes are further nourished by the region’s lush irrigation system using pure river water collected from snowmelt from the Andes Mountains.

2018 Pioneer Town Pinot Noir an easy-drinking, fruit-forward California red. Uncork this dry, medium-bodied Pinot Noir and get ready to embark on a deliciously rewarding journey. Enticing, aromatic fruit notes mingle with hints of spice and earth, conveying layers of complexity. Wild strawberries and brambly berries are underscored with dried flowers and herbs with a touch of allspice. The palate is structured, offering a round and luscious mouthfeel. Grapes were cultivated with care, selected from vineyards across the Golden State known for consistently producing high-quality Pinot Noir. Inspired by the courage of western trailblazers, Pioneer Town wines represent the spirit of California.

2019 Abbazia Barbera d'Asti D.O.C.G is the product of unique soils, climatic characteristics, and careful winemaking. This wine is well-aged with rich notes of berries, plum, and spices. Due to a careful winemaking process, Abbazia Barbera d'Asti carries beautiful tannins, a ruby red color, and phenolic compounds. On the palate, this wine is velvety with light acidity and a persistent aftertaste. Abbazia Barbera d'Asti is a red wine from Piemonte, Italy. Piedmont means "at the foot of the mountains." It gathers in a single embrace: the cool, dry air from the highest mountains in Europe and the hot and humid winds of the Mediterranean Sea from the south.

2020 Paperback Sauvignon Blanc shining a pale yellow-green in the glass, this dry wine is light to medium-bodied. Floral and citrus aromas lead to a palate bursting with zesty fruit flavors, like lime, green apple, and pear balanced by fresh acidity. The varietal’s hallmark herbal, grassy hints are evident on the finish, which is wonderfully thirst-quenching. From a fifth-generation winemaking family in South Australia, Paperbark wines are as loveable as their namesake: an Australian tree with peeling bark and fluffy white flowers. Made from grapes grown on red sandy soils over limestone, optimal flavor is developed with minimal intervention. This leads to wines with layers of complexity and expressive personality. Best served chilled, 2020 Paperbark Sauvignon Blanc pairs well with a variety of seafood dishes, vegetarian fare, and light appetizers such as hummus and crudité

My Opinion: These are all great wines and great to pair with dinner and enjoy with friends to relax.
