Out now from Mill Creek Entertainment is Cashmere Mafia The Complete Series for a MSRP of $14.98 this series stars Bonnie Somerville (The Ugly Truth), Lucy Liu (Charlie’s Angels), Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King), Frances O’Connor (A.I. Artificial Intelligence) and Executive producer and creator Darren Star. Set in glamorous New York City, four women stay close as they strive for success in the business world. Affectionately known as the Cashmere Mafia, they rely on each other for support in both their careers and their often- tumultuous personal relationships. Publisher Mia (Lucy Liu), CEO Juliet (Miranda Otto), top business executive Zoe (Frances O'Connor) and key marketing executive Caitlin (Bonnie Somerville) are bright, driven and dedicated, supporting each other through rocky marriages, rival colleagues, kids' recitals and the hunt for the perfect loft. Their ambition comes with a price - although they consistently outpace their male colleagues and husbands in salary and title, they must watch out for scheming rivals, eager to bring them down. But how better to climb to the top of the corporate ladder than with your buddies at your side?
My Opinion: I had never seen this series before but I really enjoyed it and hope maybe someday it will come back. The series runs four hours and 52 minutes and aired in 2008 which I don’t know where I was then but it wasn’t watching this and wish I was. Great storyline and a great cast make this a show based on real life as this has all happened in real life.
