The Hee Haw Collection Holiday Gift Guide 2015

HEE HAW was on TV starting in 1969 pickin’ and grinnin’, singin’ and spinnin’ tall tales and corny jokes the citizens of Kornfield Kounty was a summer replacement series for The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. Each week co-hoast Buck Owens and Roy Clark including the cast of comedians and musicians would welcome the biggest stars in country music to perform their songs and help deliver the one-liners.

Conceived as a rural alternative to Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In, HEE HAW ranked in the top 20 nationwide when CBS dropped the show in 1971in an attempt to “de-country” the network’s programming. It was quickly picked up and became the longest running weekly syndicated original series in television history. The last “new” episode aired in 1992. Looks like the non-networking executives had the las hee-haw. The DVD The HEE HAW Collection from Time Life With 3 DVD’s and 369 minutes running time. I got features performances by Donna Fargo, Loretta Lynn, Dottie West, Merle Haggard, Conway Twitty, Tennessee Earnie Ford, Charlie Rich, Tammy Wynette and more.
Plus bonus interviews with Roy Clark, Charlie McCoy, George Lindsey, Lulu Roman, Roni Stoneman, George Yanok, Jim and John Hager.

My Opinion: I remember HEE HAW when I was a kid it was on Saturday nights and my parents watched and grandmother. I do remember the jokes and performances it was a family affair on the weekend in my house.
