On March 24, 2015 Lionsgate Home Entertainment is
releasing Lonesome Dove Church on DVD with an SRP of $26.98 along with Digital
HD, On Demand. This movie has casting by Judy Lee, Production Designer Bob
Bottieri, Costume Designer Tanya Lipke and directed by Terry Miles. This movie stars Tom Berenger (Hatfields&McCoys), Greyston Hoyt (TV’s Bitten) and Alex Zahara
(Open Range).
This is inspired by
the true story of the building of the Lonesome Dove Church in Grapevine, Texas,
LONESOME DOVE CHURCH follows Pastor JOHN SHEPARD, who discovers his estranged
son ISAAC is now an outlaw wanted for murder. He sets out to find him and
“save” his soul. When he finds Isaac he’s hiding out from men he’s robbed. He
reluctantly agrees to accompany John and preach with him in exchange for John
hiding him in the back of his wagon and sneaking him out of town (no one thinks
to search a preacher’s wagon).
My Opinion: I remember the Lonesome
Dove series as a child but have not seen it now I think I want to watch it all
now. This movie runs 90 minutes and if you love Westerns you will love this
movie.
This movie has a Dove seal letting
you know it is in the faith based category.
