From Dean Hargrove, the legendary producer of television’s greatest crime and mystery series including Matlock, Mason, diagnosis murder, and Colombo comes to cases for criminology professor Jonathan Maxwell (Dick Van Dyke) with his steel trap of a crime-solving mind and partnered with private detective Mike Bryant (Barry van Dyke) from TVs air wolf, murder is today’s lesson in there will be a pop quiz. You can enjoy both TV movies together for the first time on this DVD.

Murder 101: If Wishes Were Horses runs 86 minutes. Prof. Maxwell is called upon to help when a prize racehorse is kidnapped. But the case turns deadly when a member of the family that owns the horse dies in a suspicious fire. What the case yields are a family embroiled in jealousy and greed.

A spiritual “healer” with a large and influential following locks himself in a meditation chamber with four students, only to turn up dead while his students remain deep in their trance. It’s up to Prof. Maxwell to figure out the why and the how.
My Opinion: I like a good murder mystery in a whodunit and I’ve never seen these Dick Van Dyke murder 101 collections before on TV I might’ve been too young when it came out but I really enjoyed watching these
